It's Tuesday and summer is picture-perfect in Southern Ontario this year, so why not celebrate with a great day of theatre in Niagara-on-the-Lake!
There's a special "Shaw Tuesday" package that will be available from June through September at the Shaw Festival, - the only place in the world dedicated to the works of George Bernard Shaw and his contemporaries - that puts together the best of theatre, entertainment and dining in the prettiest town in Canada.

I think it is a good way to have an up-close and personal experience with the Shaw Festival and its actors, as well as a chance to sample some of the fine dining available in NOTL. The Shaw prepares a lovely picnic lunch which you can enjoy on the patio by the pond, after your backstage tour.

The matinee performance leaves time afterwards for some walking and shopping in the village before dinner at the Queen's Landing. The sous-chef, Trevor Ritchie, just won Gold for Canada at a culinary competition in South America. The food and the view from the windows in the elegant dining room are excellent and the hotel is just steps from the Shaw Festival. There is an evening performance included in the package, as well as a Q&A with the actors afterwards.
Rather than drive home, book a room in the Queen's Landing, or at Harbour House, another lovely nearby inn, and make it a perfect getaway Tuesday.
That's my idea of a great summer day!
Here's to Tuesdays!
